Hunter

Hunter, our Captain, grew up spending summers on the water in Essex, CT. Working in shipyards and on boats, Hunter saved up enough money to purchase his own boat at a very young age: a 30 foot sloop. He spent several summers living aboard the vessel and working on Block Island in R.I. Hunter went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management and Outdoor Education at the University of New Hampshire. During his time at UNH, Hunter served as an outdoor adventure guide, leading various activities including backpacking, surfing, paddling, rock climbing, ice climbing, and more.

Hunter has sailed extensively throughout the Caribbean and holds a USCG 100 ton-Master Captain’s License as well as a Wilderness First Responder Certification. His passion for providing authentic experiences for others in combination with his extensive experience in the recreation industry make him the perfect Captain for Max Charters.

David

David first started sailing at Scout camp where he taught Sailing Merit Badge. He is an entrepreneur who started his first company at twenty- six. When he sold his business, he purchased his first sailboat, a Catalina 36. He has owned several sailboats since the Catalina and presently owns a Swedish-built Hallberg-Rassy sailboat. David is a member of the Blue Water Sailing Club and the Barrington Yacht Club and holds a USCG 100 ton-Master Captain’s License Including Sail or Auxiliary Sail of Less Than 25 GRT.

David fell in love with the Virgin Islands when he started chartering boats in Tortola. Since then, he has made it his mission to find a way to combine his passion for sailing and business acumen to acquire an opportunity in the Caribbean, Max Charters is that vision.

Jamie

Jamie is a valuable member of the Max Charters team. From a young age, Jamie has grown up sailing on the East Coast. As a child, she attended and later worked at a sailing camp for kids, while also spending time on her family’s sailboat throughout the summer. In addition to her sailing experience, Jamie has worked several years in the hospitality industry. Growing up as best friends, and traveling throughout their young adult lives, Jessi and Jamie have worked as a team in 5-star resorts, quaint island restaurants, and local cafes. Her background in fine dining, paired with her passion for sailing make her an asset to the Max Charters team. Jamie is excited to be a part of the crew and use her background to create a guest experience you won’t forget!

Jessi

Jessi is an irreplaceable member of our crew. Growing up, she spent most of her summers on the water in Essex, CT and Block Island, RI. As kids, Jessi and Hunter grew up learning the ins and outs of life on a boat from their dad and are in their element when on the water. Jessi has several years of experience working in the hospitality industry. From 5-star resorts in the mountains of Park City, UT, to the relaxing and elegant Springhouse Hotel on Block Island, Jessi enjoys getting to know guests from all over the world and providing a personalized and memorable experience. When the opportunity to be a part of Max Charters arose, Jessi was thrilled to be a part of the crew. With her passion for being on the water, paired with a background in hospitality, Jessi is an integral part of the team.

Finn

Our four-legged first mate, Finn, has fared many “ruff” seas. He occasionally joins the fun on board when he’s not busy hanging out with his island rooster friends or chasing his own tail. This salty dog is a friendly and unforgettable part of the Max Charters team.
